Your shots stay on your device unless you sign in.
Without signing in, your shots, gear and settings stay on your phone or in your browser, and we can't see them. You can delete a single shot, or clear your whole shot history (Clear in Insights), and deleting the app removes the rest. The one exception is the optional anonymous shot statistics described below.
If you sign in, we sync your shots, gear setup, and preferences across your devices.
What we collect.
Signed in: your email, display name, shots, gear, and settings. That is what syncing needs, nothing more.
Anonymous shot statistics (grind, dose, yield, time, taste, and the temperature and humidity if you allow location) feed the recommendation engine. They are shared only after you choose to share, whether or not you are signed in: Brewmie asks once, and nothing is sent before you say yes. No names, no emails, no device IDs, no location. Switch sharing off any time in Setup, under Privacy; shots you log after that are not shared.
Location and weather.
Optional. Humidity and temperature change how espresso extracts, so Brewmie asks for your location once per session. It rounds it to about 11 km on your device and sends only that to MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute), a public weather service, to get the current temperature and humidity. We keep those two numbers with your shot. Your location itself is never stored and never sent anywhere else. Weather data from MET Norway. Say no and your shots are logged without weather.
Who else handles your data.
Supabase stores the data of signed-in users. Google Analytics counts anonymous usage, with advertising signals switched off, and only after you choose to share. MET Norway receives the rounded location described above. Your sign-in provider (Apple, Google or GitHub) handles sign-in, and the App Store or Google Play handles purchases. We never see your password or card. We don't sell data and there is no advertising in Brewmie.

Optional. We get your account ID, email and display name. We never see your password.
Cookies.
For sign-in sessions and preferences. Anonymous analytics run only after you say yes to the one-time sharing question, which everyone is asked, wherever they are.
Your rights.
Access, correct, export, or delete your data any time. You can edit or delete any shot, export your shots as CSV or JSON, clear your shot history in Insights, and use Delete account (in Setup under Privacy, or in the account menu) to permanently remove your account and everything synced to it. You can also email us.
Children.
Not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their data.
